2020 Edmeades Vineyard Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley
Situated in the deep end of the valley on the south side of Hwy-128 just above the Navarro River, Edmeades benefits a constant, ocean-born breeze. The cold, damn air gets blown off the ocean surface and funneled down valley towards Boonville. We picked this fruit on the early side in 2020, destemmed every cluster, did pump-overs only (no punch downs), and bottled just the free run juice released during fermentation. The resulting wine has a stunning purity to it---glorious, tart red fruit (currant, red cherry, pomegranate) and red and blue flowers (hibiscus, rose, violet). We love this wine and there is far too little of it. Don't miss it.
